No, you don't have to be a PMI member to apply for the certifications. You can apply and pay the non-member fees for the exam.
If you fail to pass the PgMP certification exam, you can re-attempt the test thrice in a year with an additional fee for the second and third attempts.
To keep your PgMP certification active, you will have to earn 60 PDUs over a three-year period by taking courses & webinars on program management.
You can earn an annual base salary of $120k with the Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification.
